WATER PROBLEMS
DIRTY WATER - Dirty water conditions may be caused be the use of fire hydrants, breakage in pipes, opening and closing of gate valves, deficiencies in pressure, volume, supply of water, or any other situation that may result in a discoloration of the water.
If your laundry does become discolored from dirty water you may wish to try the recipe below to remove rust.
1/2 Cup Calgon Dishwashing Powder
8 Gallons of Hot Water
1 Teaspoon Cream of Tartar
Soak at least 1/2 hour in the machine, then run the cycle for at least 20 minutes
Or you can visit your local hardware store and purchase Iron Out©, an all purpose rust and stain remover.
LEAKS - A leak at any point past the property line at the public right of way is the responsibility of the homeowner. The Water Division will come out to the property to shut off the water for necessary repairs. Applicable fees will apply to the service call.
