Household Hazardous Waste

 The City of Fitchburg is now part of a Regional Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Day event which allows Fitchburg residents access to HHW days!  See the details below!
 
 Below is a list of items that are considered hazardous and can be brought to the event:

Latex paint is not a hazardous material but it needs to be dried out before putting it with the rubbish.
 
The 2023 Household Hazardous Waste collection schedule is as follows:
 
 Saturday July 8, 2023 and November 11, 2023, 9:00am to 12:00pm
 Fitchburg/Westminster 
 Landfill, 101 Fitchburg Road (RT 31 S)
   

 Registration is not required, however proof of residency will be necessary at the site.  Any questions may be directed to Frank Sepiol, Environmental Protection Manager at (978) 355-6821 (office) or (413) 519-3916 (cell).  
 There is a 50 gallon limit and only 5 gallons of gasoline per vehicle.
 
 Transport your materials safely:  Leave materials in original containers, do not mix chemicals.  Use sturdy boxes, not bags
 to pack your materials. Do not smoke near the materials.
 
 Businesses or non-residents may participate as a Very Small Quantity Generator for a fee.  Businesses must provide their Very Small Generator Registration at the event. Pre-approval needed by the Environmental Protection Manager @ (413) 519-3916.

 Contractor reserves the right to reject unacceptable materials.
