LIBRARY FUNDING IS AT RISK
State funding cuts have put our incredible, resource sharing system at risk and this impacts all of us. It is at the very heart of what we do to make sure that you have access to the same information and resources as everyone else in the state, no matter where you live or how much money you make. This year's Legislative Agenda will help you tell our Representative and Senator that story. Please let your legislators know how important this is to you. Library funding is only .07% of the state budget. As the website says, "Libraries don't need BIG money, they need ENOUGH money."
PRINT FROM YOUR LAPTOP OR CELL PHONE TO THE LIBRARY PRINTERS
The Library now offers remote printing from your laptop or desktop computer, or your smartphone or tablet. Go to PrinterOn website and follow the directions.
Or, for your phone or tablet, download the free PrinterOn app from the Appstore or Google Play. Search for "Fitchburg", and add the public library as a printer location. Print in black and white ($0.10 per page) or color ($1).
FREE FAX SERVICE
A free fax service is available at GotFreeFax. You will need an email account to use this service. Fax a picture or document from a file.
Looking for work, or to change jobs? The library has recently purchased WinWay Resume Builder software that will write and format your resume, and even audit your existing resume for common mistakes.
Resume Builder has been installed on all the Library's public computers, and can be used free of charge. Bring your Library card and a flash drive, or you can email your resume to yourself from the Library. Thanks to Staples for the grant that made this purchase possible.
