ABOUT THE 16TH ANNUAL AMAZING DUCK RACE 

The Amazing Duck Race was founded over a decade ago as one of Civic Days largest Fundraisers. The event features the adoption of rubber ducks that annually flock down the Nashua River. Help support Fitchburg Civic Days and adopt your ducks today! You could win big if your duck is The $2,000 'Lucky Duck'!

  • Date: Sunday, July 6, 2025
  • Event Time: 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM
    • All Day - Bounce House, Water games, Facepainting & Henna, Food Trucks, Kids activities and music.
    • 12pm - Last-minute 'Pluck a Duck' sales available at the Park.
    • 2:30pm - Duck Race 'Pluck a Duck' sales of duck close
    • 3:00pm - Duck Race begins!

OFFICIAL RULES & REGULATIONS OF THE AMAZING DUCK RACE 

Ducks will be thrown off the Riverfront Park foot bridge to race down the Nashua River to the finish-line! Once ducks are launched, they are on their own. The race committee reserves the right to free them if caught in branches or other river impediments along the way.

Winners will be determined by serial number on the bottom of the duck corresponding with the entry log . Only the exact quantity of ducks sold will be entered into the race.

Decision of the judges stationed at the finish line will be final. Many ducks come racing in. The Ducks grabbed will be scored. Judges are not eligible to win.

Winners will be announced at the end of the race. All winners will be contacted and provided instructions on claiming their prize. It is not necessary for the purchasers of winning ducks to be present to claim prize(s).

This race is organized, administered, & supervised by the Fitchburg Civic Days Committee.

HOW DO YOU WIN THE LUCKY ‘2K’ DUCK?

A random number out of all the ducks purchased will be drawn at the end of duck sales and placed in an envelope with the winning ‘Lucky Duck’ number sealed inside. At the completion of the Race the ‘Lucky Duck’ number will be revealed and if the winning 1st place duck who crossed the finish-line has the same number as the ‘Lucky Duck’ they will be awarded the $2,000 Grand Prize!

You can win two free entries 🦆🦆 to the 2025 Amazing Duck Race.

Keep a look out for Ducks around the City of Fitchburg by being the Duck Detective.🕵️‍♂️🔎

Clues about where to find it will be posted on the Fitchburg Civic Days Facebook, Instagram & Website. 

Your Mission: 

❓Use the Clue(s) to locate 'Caps the Duck' or 'Lucky Duck'.

📸 Once found take a selfie where you found the Duck. Post it on facebook or instagram and and tag @FitchburgCivicDays or email us at CivicDays@FitchburgMA.gov. 

Return the Duck to the Mayors Office at City Hall (3rd floor of 718 Main Street) to claim your Prize!
