There will be no active construction through week ending 3/15/24, however, J.A. Polito & Sons Inc. may begin re-mobilizing equipment and materials to their Main Street yard location (outside of right-of-way) during the week.

:  J.A. Polito & Sons Inc. Crew #1 is expected to resume construction on Main Street

 beginning on Monday, March 18, 2024. There are no detours expected to complete this work, however, it may impact vehicular travel through Main Street. Traffic management will be provided at the direction of Fitchburg Police Department.

During construction hours (7:00 MA to 5:00 PM), traffic on Main Street between Caldwell Street and the River Street Rotary will be rerouted. However, Main Street will remain accessible to local residences and businesses. The work, including green infrastructure and new sewer installation, is expected to last approximately 4 weeks. Main Street traffic will be rerouted using various local streets as shown in the attached Main Street West Detour Map. Traffic management will be provided at the direction of Fitchburg Police Department.

Residents of Crescent Heights will be asked to relocate their vehicles the night before construction or before 7 AM. Parking will be available on  Bond Street and Arlington Street for residents. The Fitchburg Police department will have officers on site, and residents may reach out to the police department for assistance with walking on Crescent Heights, accessing their homes, and any other safety concerns. During non-construction hours, vehicular access to Crescent Heights will be permitted for local traffic. Please see the attached Crescent Heights Notice  which will be distributed to residents of Crescent Heights.
