FPL's 3D Printing service allows area residents to submit .stl files to be printed.
The library has a Sovol SV06 3D printer, and accepts requests to print files no larger than 8x8x9 inches in size with PLA plastic. Final slicing is done by library staff.
To submit a print:
- Complete the library's 3D Print Request form.
- Email your .stl file to fplref@cwmars.org, or bring it to the library on a flash drive.
- Please submit only one request at a time. If you have another request, you may submit it after the previous request has been picked up.
- Prints must be no larger than 8x8x9 inches in size.
Cost & Pick Up
- The library charges 5 cents/gram for finished prints, including rafts and supports. Failures due to printer malfunction will not be charged. Please note, the library is cash-only (no cards accepted).
- You will receive an email and/or phone call when your print is ready for pick up. Objects will be printed on a first-come, first-served basis subject to library staffing levels.
Guidelines
- The public may not use the printer to create material that is:
- prohibited by local, state or federal law
- unsafe, harmful, dangerous or poses an immediate threat to the well-being of others
- obscene or otherwise inappropriate for the Library environment
- in violation of another's intellectual property rights. For example, the printer may not be used to reproduce material that is subject to copyright, patent or trademark protection.
- The library reserves the right to refuse any 3D print request.
