NIBRS Reporting
The Fitchburg Police Department voluntarily submits NIBRS data to the Massachusetts Crime Report Unit, who then in turns submits official crime data to the FBI. All statistics are calculated using the best data available at the time. Please note, final numbers may be subject to change. Official FBI statistics typically published in the fall. For more information, please visit the National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) website or the FBI's office crime data explorer CDE (cjis.gov)
As of year end 2021, the FBI officially phased out UCR summary reporting and has transitioned to NIBRS based crime reporting only.
