The Water and Wastewater Commission is tasked with the management of water resources in the City of Fitchburg. This commission shall promulgate reasonable rules and regulations for the use of the services of the water and wastewater systems, and shall have supervision and management of the water division. The Commission shall further exercise all powers and responsibilities granted by Chapter 3 Article 12 of the City Code.
Organization
The Water and Wastewater Commission is comprised of six volunteer members and the Commissioner of Public Works. Members have relevant technical, legal or business knowledge that they might apply to the operation and conduct of the water and wastewater utilities in the City of Fitchburg.
Volunteers are appointed for a four year term by the Mayor and are subject to City Council approval.
